Xtra Math is a free online program for students to use to practice basic math facts. This program can be used to strengthen addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division fact fluency.  Some teachers at Mountain View use Xtra Math at school. If so, students may log into their account by using their teacher's email and pin number given to them by their teacher. Parents can monitor their child's progress by using the enrollment code sent home on an Xtra Math class flyer. If students do not use this program in their classroom, it is free for parents to make an account for their child to use on their own at home.

myON is a digital book library that students can access at home through their NCEdCloud account. On myON, students are able to select books within their Lexile reading range that interest them. Students read the digital text on their electronic device. At the end of the book, the program provides quizzes to help measure students' comprehension of the text. myON helps develop a love for reading, no matter what age or reading level!

IXL is an online program where students kindergarten through twelfth grade can practice standards aligned content in math, reading, science, and social studies. Students are able to practice ten free problems a day per device. Any practice beyond ten problems requires a membership.

Prodigy Math is an online program for first through eighth-grade students. Prodigy is a free resource for students to use to practice math skills. If students do not have a Prodigy account from their teacher, parents can sign their child up by going to prodigygame.com or clicking the logo to the left. This math resource is standards-aligned, self-paced, and differentiated depending on students' needs.

This resource is geared towards students in Kindergarten through third grade. Home Connect is a free parent resource created by mCLASS to support early literacy skills. It is broken into four sections: phonological awareness, phonics, accurate and fluent reading, and reading comprehension. Parents can select which areas their child need growth in, and practice the activities given. Activities are classified for "On the Go" or "At Home." Some of the "At Home" activities are linked to other free websites to practice skills with online games.

One of the best ways to develop reading skills is to READ! Students can check out library books from Ashe County Public Library by using their school lunch number. Students can borrow up to ten books or audiobooks. For more information, click here.

Multiplication.com provides free, interactive games to build students' fact fluency. Under the "Games" tab, students can find a variety of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division games to practice their basic math skills.

Khan Academy is a personalized learning resource whose mission is to provide "a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere." This free resource provides math instructional videos and practice exercises for students in kindergarten through high school. The content is organized by grade level and math topics. Students can create an account to monitor their progress and save their work as they advance through the exercises. This website is a great resource for students that need extra support in mathematics.

StudyJams has over two hundred videos on math and science topics. This resource targets skills for students in second through fifth grade. This website is a great resource to review science topics for the fifth-grade science End of Grade Test.

ABCya.com provides educational games for younger elementary students. Games focus on letters, numbers, strategies, and skills. On the home page, click on the grade level desired and start playing. These games are fun and engaging!

NCEdCloud is a portal for students to access programs used at school. By logging into their NCEdCloud account, students may begin practice on iReady, XtraMath, myON, etc. To log in, students enter their username and password. From there, students select "Clever" and select the program they wish to use. Click the logo to the left to be directed to the Mountain View website. From there, click "For Students" and "NCEdCloud Login" to begin.
